Rice with Milk Dominican Style

  • 2 cups rice, long
  • 1 liter cow's milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 2 sticks cinnamon

  • 6 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon lime peels
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • In a pot, boil the 6 cups of water with cinnamon, allspice, and clove on high heat.
  • Clean and wash the rice and add it to the boiling water, lower the heat, and stir constantly with a wooden spoon.
  • When the rice is soft, add the milk and lemon peel, stir, and let cook for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Add evaporated milk, butter, a pinch of salt, and sugar, mix, and let cook for 10 minutes or until the consistency is creamy.
  • Let cool and serve in bowls.
