Tricolor Popcorn Clusters

Homemade popcorn made in a pot is delicious and one of the simplest products to consume as a snack alternative. They are 100% Mexican and come from popcorn corn. With these colorful chocolate-covered clusters, they will not only be a very tasty treat but also a lot of fun, perfect for patriotic celebrations. Since they can be dyed in different colors, you can use whichever you like and change the presentation for any occasion.

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cups popcorn kernels
  • 3 cups white chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon food coloring, red
  • 1 teaspoon food coloring, green

  • Heat a pot over medium heat with oil, add the corn, and cover; stir constantly without uncovering for 5 minutes. When the popcorn has popped, remove from the heat and set aside.
  • Heat water until boiling; place the white chocolate in a container over the pot of water to create a double boiler, melt for 5 minutes and remove.
  • Divide the chocolate into equal parts in three containers. Add green food coloring to one container, red food coloring to another, and leave one container with the white chocolate.
  • Divide the popcorn into three parts and form colorful clusters. Let cool, serve, and enjoy.
