Easy Egg Flan

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 liters cow's milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup sugar , for the caramel
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence

  • For the Caramel: Pour the cup of sugar you'll need for the caramel into a pan and stir constantly until the sugar is liquid and dark in color without burning it.
  • Once you have the caramel ready, pour it into the flan molds, spreading the caramel carefully throughout the mold.
  • For the Flan: Pour the 4 eggs into a wide, deep container along with the sugar, mixing very well little by little, then add the milk and vanilla essence and mix again until it becomes somewhat frothy.
  • Once you see it's well mixed and frothy, pour it into the flan molds.
  • Leave it for 40 minutes in the oven in a water bath at 180º, making sure to monitor it to prevent burning. To check if it's ready, poke it with a toothpick; if it comes out clean, it's done; if not, leave it until it does, checking every 3 minutes. If it's ready, let it cool for 40 minutes, then unmold it and place it in the refrigerator, and... done!
