Homemade Flan

Craving a dessert and don't know what to make? Try this flan; it's a fairly easy recipe to prepare with a few ingredients you can find at home.

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 can condensed milk, 370 milliliters
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 740 milliliters cow's milk
  • 2 tablespoons water

  • In a bowl, mix the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, and two measures of milk using the measure from the can of sweetened condensed milk. Mix by hand or with a mixer according to your preference.
  • In a small pot, mix the water with the sugar and place over high heat, keeping an eye on the caramel; when you see that it is quite thick, you can use it.
  • Remove the caramel from the heat and immediately pour it into the containers where you will serve the flans evenly.
  • Pour the flan mixture into the containers, covering very well with aluminum foil.
  • In a pot or electric skillet, place the containers in a water bath; it should take between 25 and 35 minutes to set.
  • Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  • Store in the refrigerator to chill, and in about 1 hour it will be ready to eat.
