A delicious and simple option to share with family. Treat them with this classic napolitan flan that always brings a smile to my kids. Their reactions motivate me to keep cooking tasty things for them.

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla essence

  • Place the sugar in a pan over low heat until it melts and forms caramel; pour it into one or several molds, and once ready, set aside.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  • Place the rest of the ingredients in the blender.
  • Once the mixture is blended, pour it into the mold, cover, and seal with aluminum foil. Remember, the shiny side goes towards the food.
  • Place the mold on a tray with water for the water bath cooking.
  • Put the tray with the mold in the oven and bake for approximately 45 to 50 minutes.
  • After 45 minutes, check your flan by inserting a metal knife; if it comes out clean, it's ready; if not, let it bake a little longer.
  • Once cooked, take it out of the oven and let it cool.
  • This step fascinates me; place the tray or plate where you will serve or display your flan, flip it over with pressure, and you may need to give the flan a little tap to release it.
  • Lift the mold and let the caramel spread across the plate.
