You can make this delicious orange flan during the hot seasons, or even for December desserts, it’s an excellent option. It’s very simple and quick to make.
Boil the milk and add the orange zest; this is only to flavor the milk and prevent it from curdling when it comes into contact with the orange juice.
In a bowl, add the sugar, the 4 eggs, and the orange juice.
remove the milk from the heat after boiling for a few minutes and strain
Add the milk (warm, not hot) to this mixture and stir everything.
For the caramel: Pour the sugar into a large pan, leave on low heat until it becomes liquid. Be careful not to burn it, stir constantly.
In a previously caramelized mold, place the mixture. Use a water bath (it can be in a pressure cooker or in the oven) and cook for approximately 25 minutes. The time will depend on each pressure cooker or oven. The best way to know it’s done in the case of the oven is to insert a toothpick; if it comes out dry, it’s ready.
Once warm, place it in the refrigerator and leave it there until serving.
Garnish with orange slices.
