Bananas in Pot

This is a Dominican dessert, delicious and very easy to prepare.

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • salt
  • 1/2 cups water

  • Peel the bananas and cut them into small pieces.
  • Insert the cinnamon sticks into the banana pieces. Place them in a thick-bottomed pot, cover them with sugar, add margarine, salt, vanilla extract, and water.
  • Cook over medium heat and stir regularly until almost all the liquid has evaporated and only the syrup remains.
  • Serve immediately.
