Christmas Caramel Apples

Caramel apples are a simple and delicious recipe for this Christmas season.

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 8 apples, medium
  • 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped and toasted
  • 200 grams chocolate, melted

  • Place wax paper on a baking sheet and apply butter to the paper.
  • Wash the apples and insert the wooden stick into them from the stem side.
  • In a pot, add the thermometer and put in the butter, corn syrup, brown sugar, and milk, bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  • Stir slowly until the thermometer reads 248 ºC.
  • Remove the pot from the heat and add the vanilla extract.
  • Dip each apple in the caramel and then in the nuts.
  • Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and drizzle the chocolate over the apples.
  • Place the apples on the wax paper and wait until the chocolate cools (put them in the refrigerator for a few minutes).
