Easter Bread

It is a family tradition, during Lent, to make a delicious dessert, Easter bread. It is a rich bread with a sweet flavor, thanks to the dried fruits included in the recipe. It is the perfect dessert for the fasting season.

  • 1/8 cups butter, (125 g)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cups cow's milk
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons anise
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons almonds, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cups raisins
  • lime zest, to taste
  • icing sugar, to taste (for decoration)
  • 1 pinch salt

  • Preheat the oven to 180° C.
  • Incorporate the butter and powdered sugar in a bowl and start mixing. Add the eggs one by one while continuing to mix. Add the lemon zest, milk, and anise.
  • Once the mixture is homogeneous, add the flour (little by little), baking powder, salt, the dried fruits, and raisins.
  • Dust a mold with butter and flour.
  • Pour the mixture into the mold and bake for 45 minutes.
