Fig tart with mascarpone

The tart is one of those desserts that seems very difficult to prepare, but it is actually very easy.   • 1/2 cups butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • flour, to roll out the dough
  • 500 grams mascarpone cheese
  • 1/4 cups whipping cream
  • 1/4 cups Carlota® Honey
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 2 eggs
  • fig, in quarters, for decoration

  • Use the paddle attachment of the mixer to cream the butter and sugar until you achieve a creamy and lump-free consistency. Add the salt and flour, gradually incorporate the water, and beat for 5 minutes or until you get a smooth mixture that doesn’t stick to the sides of the bowl.
  • Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Then, flour a surface and roll out the dough to about 1 cm thick.
  • Place the rolled-out dough into a tart pan, remove the excess dough, and fit it into the pan. Prick with a fork and blind bake at 180 °C for 10 minutes.
  • For the filling: beat the Miel Carlota®, mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, vanilla, and eggs. Pour over the tart and bake at 180 °C for 40 minutes. Let cool.
  • Decorate the tart with figs and a bit of Miel Carlota®.
