Pears with Honey and Cheese

Try these delicious pears with honey and cheese, which have a touch of spices, white wine, and honey. To top it off, they are served with a mascarpone cream. This dessert will be the favorite at all your gatherings thanks to the rich combination of flavors.

  • 4 pears
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1/2 cups Carlota® Bee Honey
  • 20 grams ginger, peeled
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 star anise pod
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/4 cups Carlota® Bee Honey, for the cheese sauce
  • 1/2 cups walnuts, finely chopped, for garnish

  • Cut the pears in half and remove the core and seeds using a spoon or a parisienne scoop.
  • Cook the pears in a pot with the white wine, water, orange zest, lemon juice, Carlota® Honey, ginger, cloves, star anise, and cinnamon over low heat for 15 minutes or until they change color slightly without breaking. Remove the pears and place them in a bowl to cool a bit.
  • For the sauce: Soften the mascarpone cheese in a bowl with a hand mixer, then add the heavy cream and honey. Afterwards, mix very well until it doubles in size. Reserve in the refrigerator until use.
  • To serve the pears: Place some of the cheese sauce on a flat plate and then add the two halves of the pear. Top with a little more sauce and finally sprinkle with nuts.
