  • 6 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder, royal
  • 1 teaspoon dry yeast
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons ginger powder, You can add a little more based on taste.
  • 4 tablespoons cinnamon powder
  • 2 tablespoons clove powder
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup corn syrup, Karo

  • In a deep bowl, mix with a manual whisk the flour, baking powder, and Royal powder.
  • In an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until the mixture is fluffy.
  • Add the spices, salt, eggs, and honey to the fluffy mixture and beat until you obtain a uniform dough.
  • Add the flour to the mixture and combine slowly. Divide the dough in two, cover with plastic wrap, and chill for 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius, and prepare the baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • On a clean surface with a little flour, roll out the dough and cut cookies into Christmas shapes. Transfer the cookies to the baking sheet.
  • Bake the cookies without letting them darken for about 20 minutes.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool before removing them from the baking sheet.
  • Decorate with Lemon Icing.
