Golden Milk Cake

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons McCormick® ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons McCormick® ground turmeric
  • 1 pinch McCormick® ground pepper
  • 2 teaspoons McCormick® ground ginger
  • 6 egg whites
  • 1 cup whole milk, whipped
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened for the buttercream
  • 1 cup icing sugar, sifted for the buttercream
  • 3/4 tablespoons McCormick® ground cinnamon, for the buttercream
  • 1 tablespoon McCormick® ground turmeric, for the buttercream
  • 3/4 cups coconut cream, for the buttercream
  • 1/2 tablespoons honey, for the buttercream
  • candied pecans, chopped, for decoration

  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  • Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt; add McCormick® Ground Cinnamon, McCormick® Ground Ginger, McCormick® Turmeric, and McCormick® Ground Pepper. Set aside.
  • In a bowl, mix the milk with the egg whites and vanilla until perfectly combined. Set aside.
  • Using a mixer, blend the butter and sugar until smooth, gradually add the flour and alternate with the liquid mixture until finished. Pour the mixture into a previously greased mold and bake for 30 minutes at 180 °C.
  • Let the cake cool for 15 minutes, unmold, and place on a rack.
  • For the buttercream, beat the butter until smooth, add the sugar, cinnamon, and McCormick® Ground Turmeric. Mix for 5 minutes and add the coconut cream and honey until incorporated.
  • Divide the cake into 3 horizontal layers and form the cake by placing a layer of cake as the base, then add a layer of cream, and continue alternating until the other two layers are finished.
  • Cover the cake with the remaining cream and, using a spatula, smooth the cake until it has a smooth and even finish. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Decorate with a little honey and caramelized nuts.
