Grilled Pineapple with Ginger Cream

Grilled pineapple with ginger cream is a healthy and delightful dessert or snack.

  • 1/2 cups sour cream , without fat
  • 1 tablespoon raw sugar
  • 1 tablespoon crystallized ginger, chopped
  • 1 pineapple, medium
  • 1 tablespoon margarine, or melted butter
  • 6 maraschino cherries

  • Turn on the grill (gas or charcoal) and let it heat up while you prepare the cream.
  • In a bowl, mix the sour cream, sugar, and ginger until you have a smooth mixture. Cover it with aluminum foil and let it chill in the refrigerator while you prepare the rest.
  • To cut the pineapple, first cut off the crown. Cut the pineapple into 6 slices and remove the skin from each slice.
  • Remove the center of each slice. Spread the margarine or melted butter over the slices.
  • Place the slices on the grill and heat them until they take on a light brown color.
  • Serve the slices with the sauce.
