Homemade Churros

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 liters vegetable oil, to fry
  • 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, 2 1/2 tablespoons of sugar, salt and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
  • Let them boil and remove from heat. Incorporate the flour until a dough forms.
  • Heat the oil to fry in a deep pan or conical saucepan at 190 C.
  • Place the dough in a pastry bag with a duya or star point.
  • Form churros and fry in hot oil until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  • Mix 1/2 cup of cinnamon sugar. Stir churros in this mixture.
