Homemade Churros

This recipe is for delicious homemade churros to enjoy with your whole family. It’s a delightful dessert that can be paired with cajeta or Nutella; spread it on the churro and see how much you will enjoy it.

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 liters vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, 2 1/2 tablespoons of sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
  • Let it boil and remove from heat. Stir in the flour until a dough forms.
  • Heat oil for frying in a deep skillet or conical pot to 190°C.
  • Place the dough in a piping bag with a star tip.
  • Shape the churros and fry in hot oil until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  • Mix 1/2 cup of cinnamon sugar. Toss the churros in this mixture.
