Jamoncillo is a traditional Mexican candy made from milk and sugar; for a delicious finishing touch, mix it with chopped nuts on top.

  • 1 liter whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 500 grams sugar

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, place all the ingredients.
  • Stir constantly for about an hour or until you can see the bottom of the saucepan.
  • Remove from heat and continue stirring until it cools enough to handle with your hands.
  • Shape the jamoncillos. These can be balls or sticks.
