Preheat the oven to 180°C.
In a bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder and salt. Set aside.
Cream the butter with the sugar in the mixer. Add the eggs one by one while continuing to beat. Add the vanilla.
Add the dry ingredients alternating with the milk and beat until well combined.
Pour the mixture into a cupcake mold with liners, filling them up to 3/4 of their capacity. Decorate with the strips of guava paste and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake for about 20 minutes, cool and enjoy.
