Kisses with Jam

Enjoy this classic of Mexican bakery, named for the resemblance to lips that simulates a kiss. A delicious cookie, covered with a creamy mixture of butter and filled with strawberry jam. You will love it!

  • 1 3/4 cups butter, for the dough
  • 1 1/8 cups sugar, for the dough
  • 2 eggs, for the dough
  • 3 cups flour, for the dough
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder, for the dough
  • 1 teaspoon salt, for the dough
  • 8 tablespoons cow's milk, for the dough
  • 7 tablespoons butter, for the topping
  • 5 tablespoons icing sugar, for the topping
  • granulated sugar
  • strawberry jam

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Beat the butter with the sugar until creamy, add the eggs one by one, then the flour, baking powder, salt, and milk. Continue beating until you have a homogeneous dough.
  • Form balls of approximately 20 g and place them on a previously greased and floured baking tray. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden. Cool.
  • Beat the butter with the powdered sugar until creamy.
  • Using a brush, coat the kisses with the butter and powdered sugar mixture and sprinkle with refined sugar. Add jam to the base of one of the kisses and close with another. Enjoy.
