Latte Creme Tamal

A tamal with chocolate will always be a sensation, which is why we share this Latte Creme Tamal recipe. The most special thing about this recipe is that it is an Oaxacan tamal filled with Latte Creme Marinela®, which will turn out fluffy and have the delicious flavor of Oaxacan-style banana leaf.

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • 2 cups corn masa flour, , for tamal
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup cow's milk
  • 8 latte creme Marinela®, (40 g each)
  • banana leaf, roasted

  • Beat the butter with the sugar until smooth, add the flour, baking powder, and milk gradually as the dough requires. Beat until you have a homogeneous and semi-liquid dough.
  • Pour a tablespoon of the tamal dough onto the banana leaf and spread it out. Place a piece of Latte Creme Marinela® on top and cover with more dough. Fold it like a tamal.
  • Place the tamales in a steamer with water and cook for 40 minutes. Let rest before serving.
