Cream the butter, add the cream cheese and continue beating. Add the sugar and mix. Add the lemon, vanilla, and lemon zest. Add the eggs two at a time. Mix the flour with the salt and baking powder. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter and egg mixture, alternating with the milk.
Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for about 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out dry.
Let cool on a rack and unmold.
Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with milk and lemon juice. Pour the glaze over the pound cake.
