In a bowl and using a mixer, cream the butter and sugar. Once well mixed, add the egg and vanilla extract.
Mix the flour and baking powder well.
In 3 parts, add flour to the butter mixture, stirring very well after each addition. For the last part of flour, mix it by hand; the dough should be firm.
Divide the dough into two balls and keep one wrapped in cling film in the refrigerator.
With a little flour on your hands, make small balls with the dough the size of a plum. Flatten them with your fingers to get a flat surface.
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Bake for 6-8 minutes until the edges of the cookies start to brown.
Let the cookies cool on a rack while preparing the icings to decorate the cookies.
To prepare the colored icing: mix the milk with the powdered sugar. Add the corn syrup and stir well. Set aside a little of the icing and add one or two drops of green food coloring to make the snowman's scarf.
Decorate the snowman's face with the orange and black gels. Once the cookies are cool, decorate them with the white icing, place the marshmallow and the candies while still wet. Allow the white icing to cool and then draw the green scarf with colored sugar and the little hands with the brown gel.
