Chocolate Orange Marble Muffins

This recipe is always a hit; the intense flavor of chocolate perfectly combines with the citrus notes of orange. Additionally, using little sugar gives full prominence to the two main flavors. The good thing about this recipe is that you don’t need a mixer or a scale; it’s so simple, you only need: a bowl, a measuring cup, and a whisk, and you can make it in the blink of an eye.

  • Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius.
  • Grease and flour 8 muffin molds.
  • On one side, mix the flour with baking powder and sugar.
  • On one side, mix the egg, natural yogurt, oil, and milk until frothy.
  • Combine both mixtures, and make sure to integrate them very well.
  • Divide the batter into two separate bowls, and to one, add the teaspoon of vanilla and the tablespoon of cocoa and mix again.
  • To the other mixture, add the orange zest and mix very well.
  • Proceed to fill the muffin molds, first with a tablespoon of one mixture and then a tablespoon of the other, carefully and without mixing them, just one on top of the other. Make sure they are filled almost to the edge.
  • If you are going to add chocolate chips or pieces of candied orange, do it now.
  • Lower the oven temperature to 200 degrees Celsius and bake the muffins for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they look slightly golden and when a toothpick is inserted, it comes out clean.
  • Take them out of the oven and enjoy.
