Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cookies

Delicious peanut butter cookies with chocolate on top. Makes 4 dozen.

  • 48 Hershey Kisses chocolate
  • 1/2 cups lard
  • 3/4 cups peanut butter
  • 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cups brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons cow's milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • Preheat the oven to 375 F (190 C).
  • Remove the wrappers from the chocolates.
  • Mix the shortening with the peanut butter in a bowl until well combined. Add 1/3 cup of sugar and 1/3 cup of brown sugar. Beat until fluffy.
  • Add the egg, milk, and vanilla and mix well. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the peanut butter mixture to the prepared mixture.
  • With your hands, form balls about 2.5 cm in diameter. Sprinkle with sugar and place on a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden. Immediately when they are ready, place a chocolate in the center (the edges of the cookie will crack a little).
  • Allow to cool on a wire rack.
