In a large pot, combine the honey, sugar, lemon juice, cloves, and 4 cups of water.
Peel the pears and use a knife or a melon baller to remove the dark bottom part of the pears. Place the pears in the honey mixture and use a spoon to coat them with the mixture.
Allow the mixture to boil, reduce to low heat, cover the pot, and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the pears are tender when pierced with a knife.
Remove the pears from the syrup and place them in a deep container.
Meanwhile, peel the oranges and add them to the syrup. Bring the syrup back to a boil, reduce to low heat, cover the pot, and cook for 5 minutes.
Using a spoon, remove the oranges from the syrup and place them in the same bowl as the pears. Pour the syrup over them, cover, and refrigerate.
