With this recipe, you can prepare the traditional Pecan Pie, the perfect dessert for nut lovers; it's a true delight from the pastry world that you must try.
For the dough: combine in the food processor the flour, 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, and baking powder. Pulse 3 times.
Cut the half stick of butter into 5 pieces, add to the bowl, and process until there are no large chunks of butter, about 15 seconds.
Add one egg and pulse about 10 times until the dough forms into a ball.
Form a ball with your hands, wrap it in plastic, and refrigerate for one hour.
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
For the filling: combine honey and sugar in a saucepan and place over low heat to boil without stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, add butter, and let it melt.
In a bowl, stir together eggs, rum, and salt. Carefully add the honey-butter mixture without overmixing. Let cool.
For the dough, take it out of the refrigerator and roll it out with a rolling pin to have a circle of 30 cm in diameter. Place it in a small greased pie dish, pressing down slightly.
Trim the excess from the edges. Arrange the nuts in the dough, pour the filling, and place it over the nuts.
With a fork, push the nuts down to cover them. Bake for 35 minutes until the filling is firm. Serve cold or warm.
