Apple Pie with Alpen Cereal Crust

The classic but nonetheless delicious apple pie recipe, this time with a crunchy cereal crust. It's spectacular!

  • 4 cups Alpen® original cereal
  • 1/2 cups unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cups sugar
  • 6 golden apple
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 raw sugar
  • 1 pinch cinnamon powder
  • 1 teaspoon wheat flour

  • Place the cereal in a food processor or blender until you obtain a semi-fine powder. You can also put it in a plastic bag and crush it with a glass.
  • Pour the cereal into a bowl and add the melted butter on top.
  • Place the cereal in a butter-greased baking dish. Press down well; you will decide the thickness of the pie crust.
  • Peel and slice the apples thinly. Add the butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Simmer on low heat until the apples become soft.
  • Place on top of the cereal crust. You can cover it with puff pastry or sprinkle crushed cereal on top.
  • Bake for 25 minutes at 190°C or until golden brown. Serve with ice cream.
