Westphalian Apple Tart

This apple tart recipe is delicious and can be served at breakfast or tea time.

  • 750 grams golden apple
  • 200 grams flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 200 grams butter
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 teaspoons lime zest
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons cow's milk
  • 50 grams almonds
  • 3 tablespoons icing sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • Peel apples and slice them thinly. Beat 200 g butter with 100 g sugar, add eggs one at a time, beating well between each. Add vanilla and zest.
  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Sift flour with baking powder. Add to the butter mixture alternating with milk and ground almonds.
  • Place the batter in a greased and floured Spring Form pan. Arrange the apples on top and sprinkle with a tablespoon of sugar.
  • Bake for 40 minutes at 350ºF. Remove from the oven, cool for 10 minutes, and unmold. Once cool, dust with powdered sugar.
