Succulent Mango Pie

Delicious pie for any celebration. I always prepare it when I have guests at home. Honestly, it's a cheap, tasty recipe that is very easy to make. I highly recommend it.

  • 1 stick unsalted butter , for the pie crust
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt , for the pie crust
  • 7 tablespoons water, for the pie crust
  • 1 can evaporated milk, for the filling
  • 1 egg, for the filling
  • 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla , for the filling
  • 1/2 cups sugar , for the filling
  • 1/4 cups cornstarch , for the filling
  • 1 can canned mangoes, for the filling
  • cornstarch , half a quart or less for the topping, along with the syrup from the mangoes
  • 1 1/2 cups flour , for the pie crust

  • For the pie crust, mix the butter with the salt and flour (adding water gradually) until a dough forms. Line the mold and bake until golden (180-200 degrees Celsius).
  • For the filling, blend everything in a blender and place it in a water bath (keep stirring to prevent sticking); once it thickens and shines, let it cool. Pour into the loaf mold and place the (drained) mango slices on top.
  • For the topping, cook the mango syrup with half a quart of cornstarch or less, blend it, and place it in a water bath; it becomes less thick, and when it shines, let it cool and cover the entire pie. Refrigerate.
