Matcha Poudcake

This fluffy green tea pound cake is a delight you should make as soon as possible. Its rich flavor is perfect for pairing with a cup of coffee or a glass of milk. It’s also great for giving as a gift.

  • 120 grams unsalted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 120 grams flour
  • 120 grams sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon matcha, dissolved in water

  • Preheat the oven to 160 C.
  • Grease and flour a pan between 10 and 18 cm.
  • Beat the butter and sugar on medium speed until well combined; for about 5 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time while continuing to beat.
  • Sift the flour and baking powder. Lower the mixer speed and gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture.
  • Divide the mixture into 2 and add the matcha dissolved in water to one part and mix.
  • Pour a part of the tea mixture and another part with tea into the greased container in layers.
  • Bake for about one hour or until a toothpick comes out clean.
