Spider Web Cake

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest
  • 1/2 teaspoons cardamom
  • 1/2 cups yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cups olive oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups icing sugar
  • 1 lime, the juice
  • butter, for greasing the mold
  • 100 grams bittersweet chocolate

  • Preheat the oven to 180°. Grease and flour a cake mold.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, cardamom, and salt.
  • Mix the sugar with the lemon zest, yogurt, olive oil, eggs, and vanilla extract with a whisk until all ingredients are incorporated.
  • Fold the ingredients with a spatula until combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the mold and level the surface with a spatula. Place the mold in the center of the oven until the cake is golden on top and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 50 minutes.
  • In another bowl, mix the powdered sugar with the lemon juice, adding the juice drop by drop and mixing until the desired consistency is achieved.
  • Melt the chocolate and place it in a piping bag. Cut the tip of the bag and create a spider web on top of the cake.
  • Pour the frosting over the cake.
