Delicious chocolate cake, it is a perfect dessert for a romantic dinner or to conclude a delightful meal. This preparation serves as a base for a cake decorated with fondant or pastry cream.
Preheat the oven to 175°c
Grease and flour a 9-inch (23cm) springform cake pan. Set aside.
Place a stainless steel bowl over a saucepan with boiling water.
In the bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar for 5 minutes or until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and continue whisking until the mixture cools slightly.
Set aside.
In a second bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, cocoa, oil, and food coloring. Gently fold them into the beaten egg mixture with a spatula or whisk, then carefully incorporate the melted butter and vanilla extract. Pour the mixture into the cake mold.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Remove from the oven. Remove the cake from the mold by sliding a small knife around the edges. Let it cool for 5 minutes.
