Pumpkin-Shaped Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 kilos sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 6 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 6 tablespoons cow's milk
  • 6 teaspoons icing sugar
  • food coloring, orange and black

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  • In a mixer, pour in the butter and beat it until it has a creamy consistency, then add the sugar.
  • Once well incorporated, add the vanilla and the egg. In a separate bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder.
  • Gradually add the flour until it takes on a firm consistency. At this point, you should work with your hands.
  • Form balls of dough and flatten them to create the shape of a pumpkin; it should not be a perfect circle.
  • Bake for 6 or more minutes, depending on the desired color of the cookies.
  • To decorate, mix the milk with the powdered sugar, add the corn syrup until well incorporated. Add the food coloring until the desired shade is achieved.
  • Spread the orange icing over the cookies, wait for it to dry, and then add the black icing to form the eyes and mouth. Let it dry.
