Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. In a mixer, pour in the butter and beat it until it has a creamy consistency, then add the sugar. Once well incorporated, add the vanilla and the egg. In a separate bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder. Gradually add the flour until it takes on a firm consistency. At this point, you should work with your hands. Form balls of dough and flatten them to create the shape of a pumpkin; it should not be a perfect circle. Bake for 6 or more minutes, depending on the desired color of the cookies. To decorate, mix the milk with the powdered sugar, add the corn syrup until well incorporated. Add the food coloring until the desired shade is achieved. Spread the orange icing over the cookies, wait for it to dry, and then add the black icing to form the eyes and mouth. Let it dry.
