Pumpkin Sweet from Castilla

This delicious pumpkin sweet made with piloncillo, guavas, and cinnamon is typical for this Day of the Dead. Very sweet, soft, and also delicious.

  • 6 piloncillos
  • 8 cups water
  • 3 cloves
  • 3 Great Value® Cinnamon Sticks
  • 3 kilos winter squash
  • 1 kilo guava, cut into quarters

  • In a pressure cooker, place the piloncillo with the water, cloves, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil.
  • Meanwhile, cut the pumpkin into cubes of approximately 8 x 8 cm.
  • Once the piloncillo has dissolved, add the pumpkin and cover the pot.
  • Cook for 30 minutes over low heat. Cool the pot and uncover.
  • Add the guavas and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes without covering the pot. Serve hot. Buy HERE
