A simple and delicious dessert, a sorbet of strawberries and watermelon, perfect for hot weather, served with a splash of dry champagne, although this is optional.

1 cup water
2 teaspoons icing sugar, or fine sugar
300 grams watermelon, seedless, peeled, and chopped
225 grams strawberries
champagne, optional

Wash and disinfect the strawberries well, remove the stems, and set aside with the watermelon.
In a saucepan, mix the water and sugar; let it come to a boil and remove from heat to let it cool completely.
Blend the watermelon and strawberries (it can be done in a blender or food processor) until a puree forms.
Mix the puree with the sugar, pour into a stainless steel container, and freeze; stir occasionally with a fork to achieve a smooth and even texture.
After stirring at half-hour intervals for about 4 hours, let it cool normally before enjoying.
