Rice Pudding

Rice Pudding is a typical Mexican dessert ✅. It is served with raisins and a little powdered cinnamon. It is super quick to prepare and everyone loves it.

  • 1 cup rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 sprig cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest, (optional)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 cups cow's milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cups raisins
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 pinch cinnamon powder, for decoration

  • Place rice in a large pot with water, cinnamon stick, lemon zest, and salt.
  • Heat on high until it begins to boil, lower the heat and cover until almost all the water is absorbed.
  • Add milk and sugar, raise the heat and stir until it thickens.
  • Add vanilla and cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let cool for 25 minutes.
  • Transfer to a serving dish or individual cups, add raisins and sprinkle with powdered cinnamon for garnish.
