Rice with candy

It is a typical dessert of my country, commonly known as Arroz Con Leche, however the northerners we call Arroz con Dulce, I hope you like the Dominican style.

  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 1 liter cow's milk
  • 1 pound rice
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 cups raisins, (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 teaspoons nutmeg powder
  • salt, to taste
  • sticks cinnamon, to decorate
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • lime zest
  • 1/4 teaspoons clove, sweet powder

  • Put in a saucepan to boil over medium heat coconut milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, sweet clove powder, lemon streak and rice. Move constantly.
  • When it breaks boil, add cow's milk and continue moving. Leave to cook over medium heat
  • Add the evaporated milk and stir, add the raisins (optional) and stir. Lower the heat and let cook for 15 minutes or until it is a bit dry, depending on the taste of each person.
  • Remove from heat, let cool and serve in glasses or cups. You can serve warm or cold, cut cinnamon sticks to decorate.
