Santiago Cake

The Santiago cake is traditional in Galician cuisine. A dessert made with almonds, with a smooth and delicious texture. It is a perfect dessert for special occasions; prepare it, don't wait any longer.

  • 200 grams flour
  • 200 grams almonds, powder
  • 200 grams sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 200 grams orange zest
  • 5 grams cinnamon powder
  • 200 grams powdered sugar, for decoration
  • 1 orange, supremes, for decoration
  • 80 grams strawberry , in quarters, for decoration.
  • 70 grams whipping cream, for decoration

  • Mix in a bowl the ground almonds with the sugar, flour, orange zest, and cinnamon.
  • Incorporate the eggs one by one and beat with a wooden spoon.
  • Grease and flour a cake pan and pour in the mixture.
  • Bake at 180°C for approximately 30 minutes.
  • Once out of the oven, let it cool completely and unmold.
  • Decorate with powdered sugar, marking with a paper stencil the cross of Santiago de Compostela.
  • Whip the cream with the orange supremes and the strawberry.
