Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

This chocolate chip cookie recipe is excellent. The cookies come out soft, even after cooling down. They taste great paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons cow's milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 2 cups semi-dark chocolate chips

  • Preheat the oven to 375 F or 180 C.
  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  • Mix the flour, salt, and baking soda in a bowl.
  • Put the melted butter in the mixer. Add the sugar and brown sugar. Beat at medium speed.
  • Add the egg yolk, egg, 2 tablespoons of milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture.
  • Incorporate the chocolate chips.
  • Chill the dough in the refrigerator for a few minutes to cool.
  • Using an ice cream scoop, make balls of dough and place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 14 minutes or until golden brown. You should check the cookies after 5 minutes in the oven to prevent them from browning too much.
  • Let cool and enjoy!
