Strawberry Tiramisu

Tiramisu is a classic Italian dessert, and for this version, we will prepare it with delicious strawberries. With this tiramisu recipe, you will learn to make the ladyfingers from scratch and use the characteristic ingredients of the dessert, such as mascarpone cheese.   • 4 egg whites, for the ladyfingers
  • 1/2 cups sugar, for the ladyfingers
  • 4 egg yolks, for the ladyfingers
  • 1/2 cups sugar, for the ladyfingers
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, for the ladyfingers
  • 1 cup flour, for the ladyfingers
  • 2 cups strawberries, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cups Licor 43, to macerate the strawberries
  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 lime, (zest)
  • cocoa, for decoration
  • strawberries, cut into slices for decoration
  • leaves peppermint, for decoration

  • For the ladyfingers, in a bowl, beat the egg whites with the sugar until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  • Beat the egg yolks with the sugar and vanilla essence until they change color.
  • Add the egg whites to the yolks and, using a sifter, add the flour; fold it in gently. Place it in a pastry bag with a plain tip.
  • Shape the ladyfingers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 190 °C for 15 minutes. Let cool and set aside.
  • In a bowl, macerate the strawberries with Licor 43 for 30 minutes. Set aside.
  • Using a whisk, beat the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, sour cream, and lemon zest until combined. Set aside.
  • On a square stainless steel base, place acetate on the sides so the tiramisu doesn't stick; place the ladyfingers on the base, then add some cream and the strawberries; repeat the process until the mold is filled, finishing with cream. Freeze for 2 hours.
  • Dust with cocoa powder and decorate with strawberries and mint.
