  • 4 Washington® red delicious apples
  • 1 cup butter, soft
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon, in slices
  • 1 cup raw sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts, toasted and chopped
  • 1/4 cups water, for the caramel sauce
  • 1 cup sugar, for the caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt, for the caramel sauce
  • 3/4 cups sour cream, for the caramel sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for the caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, for the caramel sauce

  • walnuts, chopped and toasted, for decoration

  • Hollow out the Washington® Red Delicious apples and set aside. Mix the butter, ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and nuts. Fill the apples and bake at 200°C for 10 minutes or until roasted and cooked through.
  • For the caramel sauce, heat the water and sugar until caramelized (golden color, not burnt), add the cream, butter, and vanilla, and remove from heat.
  • Serve the apples with ice cream and drizzle with caramel sauce, garnish with chopped nuts.
