Sugar and Vanilla Cookies

Crispy sugar cookies that melt in your mouth and are a great accompaniment to a cappuccino.

  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, Royal
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, large
  • 1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1/4 cups sugar

  • We need a cookie sheet without edges so that the cookies cook quickly and retain their shape.
  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF and place the oven rack in the middle. The butter should be at room temperature.
  • In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Using a mixer, blend the butter and sugar.
  • The mixture should be light and fluffy; add the egg and vanilla, beating for 2 more minutes.
  • With the mixer on the lowest speed, incorporate the dry ingredients and mix for 30 seconds until well combined.
  • Put the sugar for sprinkling on a plate. Using a spoon, make balls of dough and place them on the plate. Coat well with sugar.
  • Place the sugar-coated balls on the ungreased cookie sheet, leaving 10 cm of space between them.
  • Bake until the cookies are golden and soft in the center, for 15 to 18 minutes. Let cool for one minute on the sheet and transfer to a rack to cool.
