  • In a stand mixer, beat the butter with the sugar at medium speed until softened. Lower the speed, add the eggs one by one, and the vanilla extract. Add the cocoa powder, wheat flour, baking powder, and salt; you can use a strainer to sift. Pour in the milk and melted chocolate, mixing until you obtain a uniform mixture.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • In a greased 21-centimeter round mold, pour the mixture and spread it. Bake for 50 minutes at 180°C. After the time is up, insert a wooden toothpick into the center of the cake to ensure it is cooked. Remove from the oven, let it cool, and unmold.
  • In a stand mixer, mix the butter with the vegetable shortening, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until fully integrated. You should obtain a workable mixture.
  • For the frosting, in a bowl, mix the chocolate with the whipping cream, heat for 2 minutes in 40-second intervals in the microwave until melted. Place in a squeeze bottle and set aside.
  • Assemble the cake. Cut the centers of two of the cakes using a ring of approximately 10 centimeters in diameter (to create a donut shape). Place one of the cut cakes as the base, cover the surface with frosting, and add the peanut m&m’s® and milk chocolate m&m’s® inside the hole you formed. Repeat the same with the second hollow cake. Finally, top with the last piece of cake and cover the cake with the remaining frosting, smoothing it with a spatula.
  • Decorate the cake with the chocolate coating, pouring it over the edge of the cake so that drops fall down the sides and cover the surface with it. Place an empty milk chocolate m&m’s® bag and use a wooden stick to help. Decorate with rosettes of frosting and pour milk chocolate m&m’s® in the center to taste.
