Tamarind Popsicles

Nothing more refreshing and flavorful than tamarind popsicles! It’s time to let the tamarind syrup, water, sugar, piquín chile powder, and chamoy work their magic and surprise your family with their piquant flavor. They're outrageously good!

  • 1 cup syrup, 8.4 oz, unsweetened
  • 3 cups water, 25.3 oz
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder, 0.4 oz, hydrated and melted
  • tamarind candies
  • piquín chile powder
  • chamoy

  • In a large pot, combine water, tamarind syrup, and sugar. Mix with a spoon.
  • Heat pot over medium heat and stir with a spoon. Bring to a boil. Add unflavored gelatin powder and mix until perfectly incorporated. Remove from heat.
  • Transfer mixture to a food storage container and let cool at room temperature or in an ice bath.
  • In popsicle molds, place tamarind candy sticks in the center and pour tamarind mixture until popsicle mold is full. Freeze for about 2 hours.
  • Unmold tamarind popsicles and garnish with piquín chile powder and chamoy.
