Delicious tejocotes in a syrup of sugar, cinnamon, and clove. A simple dessert with a delightful flavor, perfect for enjoying during the winter season, when this fruit is most abundant in Mexico. It is economical and very tasty.
In a container with plenty of water, add the lime and the tejocotes, and soak for an hour. Remove the tejocotes and place them in a pot with water, boiling for 10 minutes. Take them out, remove the skin, and return to the pot. Cook for 30 minutes over medium heat.
To make the syrup, in a pot, mix 8 cups of water with the sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and orange zest. Let it boil until it reduces by half.
In a blender, blend 3 tejocotes with the syrup.
