Creamy Filled Gorditas with Jam

Try these delicious creamy gorditas with a spectacular filling of strawberry and mango jam, as they are perfect to satisfy that sweet craving or the desire for an easy dessert.

  • 2 1/4 cups flour, previously sifted
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1 cup clotted cream
  • flour, to spread
  • Strawberry and mango jam McCormick® flavors of Mexico, 270 g

  • Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, egg, and vanilla extract in a bowl. Combine well until you obtain a compact and sandy mixture.
  • Add the cream and continue mixing; you should obtain a homogeneous and slightly moist dough. Cover with a cotton cloth and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  • Form balls slightly larger than your palms, flatten a bit using flour to prevent sticking, and create a hole in the middle. Fill with a bit of McCormick® flavors of Mexico strawberry and mango jam using a spoon and seal the gordita well with the tips of your fingers, maintaining the shape of the ball. Finally, flatten a bit to give it a circular shape and set aside. Repeat this process until you finish all the dough.
  • Cook your creamy gorditas filled with jam on a well-heated, lightly greased skillet at low temperature. Flip them with a silicone spatula when they are well browned on one side to cook the other side. Serve the creamy gorditas and enjoy.
