Vanilla and Cinnamon Sauce for Fresh Fruits

This sauce recipe for desserts with dried fruits is very versatile since you can combine it with many things and in this way enhance the flavor of your desserts.

  • 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 6 cups fresh fruit, different
  • cinnamon powder

  • Combine sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon sticks in a medium saucepan. Gradually add the evaporated milk. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly until the mixture begins to boil and thickens slightly. Remove the pot from the heat and remove the cinnamon sticks; add the vanilla extract. Refrigerate for two hours or until the mixture is very cold.
  • Arrange the fruits in dessert plates. Pour the sauce over the fruits. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
