Vanilla and Cinnamon Sauce for Fresh Fruits

This dessert sauce recipe with dried fruits is very versatile as you can combine it with many things to enhance the flavor of your desserts.

  • 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons liquid vanilla
  • 6 cups fresh fruit, different
  • cinnamon powder

  • Combine the sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon sticks in a medium saucepan. Gradually add the evaporated milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture begins to boil and thickens slightly. Remove the saucepan from the heat and take out the cinnamon sticks; add the vanilla extract. Refrigerate for two hours or until the mixture is well chilled.
  • Arrange the fruits on dessert plates. Pour the sauce over the fruits. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
