Vanilla Cake

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 sticks butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 150 grams sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cups cow's milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 100 grams walnuts

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius, and place the oven rack in the middle. Grease and flour a loaf or bundt pan.
  • Sift the flour into a bowl, along with the baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  • In a bowl, cream the butter a bit, then add the sugar and mix very well on low speed until smooth and slightly fluffy.
  • Incorporate the egg yolks one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the eggs one by one for about 20 seconds each.
  • Combine half of the flour and all of the milk, mixing well, then add the vanilla and the remaining flour, mixing again until everything is combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the pan and top with nuts or raisins, etc. Bake for 40-55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean and it is golden on top.
