Walnut Kiss Cookies

  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cups icing sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • 1 pinch salt

  • Preheat the oven to 180º (350 F).
  • First, chop the walnuts until they are finer. Then, in a mixer, place the butter with 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, and beat (medium speed) until you achieve a fluffy dough.
  • Incorporate 1 cup of flour, the vanilla, and the salt, and beat again on low speed until everything is mixed. Add the rest of the flour and the ground walnuts, and finish beating a little more.
  • Form a ball with the dough, place it in a plastic bag to refrigerate for 1 hour until firm.
  • Shape the dough into balls, about 2.5 cm in diameter, and place them on an ungreased baking sheet with 3 cm of space between them. Bake for about 12 to 15 minutes until they are light golden in color.
  • After the baking time, let them rest for 5 minutes, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and wait until they cool completely.
