  • 12 corn husks
  • 4 cups water, heat
  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups corn masa flour
  • 1 1/2 cups rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup cow's milk
  • 1 tablespoon pecan essence
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans, finely chopped

  • Soak the corn husks in water until softened. Set aside.
  • Beat the butter with the sugar until creamy.
  • Add the corn flour, rice flour, baking powder, milk, essence, and walnuts, and beat until combined.

  • Place the tamales in a steamer and cook for 1 hour.
